Natural Scottish Quarried Stone
Congratulations to our newest driver Sharon Paterson who has successfully passed her Class 2 driving test last week! You never know, she may be delivering a load to you in the near future.
A single piece of Clashach stone was used to make a bench gifted to the Queen to mark her 90th birthday.
Tennants Quarries supplied the stone from its Moray quarry.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon presented the bench during Royal Week in Scotland.
The stone was carved by stonemasons at Historic Scotland in Elgin and bears a rose, the Lion Rampant and stags’ heads. It was designed by Edinburgh-based architect David Storrar.
Timber slats for the seat were made from elm from the Queen’s garden at The Palace of Holyroodhouse.
The pictures below, provided by Historic Scotland, show some of the detail being carved into the Clashach stone.
